Q: I hear and read a lot about limited lifetime warranty. What does that mean?
A: Our warranty is simple. The coating will not delaminate or separate from our prepared concrete surface. Moreover, our guarantee: we will in a professional worklike manner without deviation change any product, or process applied to the industry standards and manufacturers required use as documented in guidelines for installation. All materials will be subject to no change of chemistry, type, volume, or usage as per our contract and specifications.
Q: What is the difference in chemistry type (e.g. a hybrid compared to a patent polyurea elastomeric polyaspartic?).
A: All types of coatings products have different characteristics and values based on industry standard testing. All have certain applications where they work well or better than others. A blender or manufacturer of coatings can with raw materials alter or change formulations to give his product a certain characteristic. This altered state in the industry is called hybrid formulation which reflects a lower cost to the blender and applicator. We only use patent formulation, pure polyurea elastomeric polyaspartics, which inherently carry the unique balance of durability and sustainability in the garage floor coating market. This assures our customers that our product will have long term capabilities lasting throughout and beyond the life of the floor.
Q: Can you explain the difference in pricing in why some applicators charge more than others?
A: Three deciding factors make up the cost of a garage floor coating system: 1) Preparation, 2) Type of material, and 3) The experience of the applicator. Preparation: The more concrete surface you remove, the more contaminants are eliminated from the surface itself. The more you remove, the more monolithic and smooth the surface becomes. The benefit to our customers is we are able to warranty our process against delamination and maximize the costmetic impact of our finished surface. Type of material: As capability of the material used (and or it’s chemistry) increases, so does the cost per gallon. In our systems we apply multiple coats: a primer, bed-coat, vinyl chip, top coat, and a second top coat; which requires more material usage and guarantees our customers longevity and quality of their purchase. The applicator: Our experience of over two million square feet of concrete surface preparation and coating applications has given us a unique expertise and perspective into the guaranteed process, selection of material, and equipment necessary to complete a project on time and to our customers needs.
Q: Can you explain the prep perfect system and why you use polyurea elastomerics polyaspartics?
A: We started using pure polyurea elastomeric polyaspartics in early 2006. The formulations at that time had not been used in the decorative media type garage floor setting. However, the products had been used for over 30 years as a spray-on coating application in every commercial application from salt water protection on ship hulls, railroad cars, and bridges over steel and concrete. We quickly found that this chemistry had a viable use in garage floors because of its obvious cured properties. The product’s durability and flexibility makes this chemistry perfect for the application of garage floor coatings, especially in areas where harsh climate changes are a reality, such as is it in Minnesota. We set forth a plan to develop the necessary techiques to apply this roll-on chemistry to the garage floor with one goal in mind; a consistently successful garage floor completed in one day. After months of application research, technique changes, and formulation changes and alterations, we arrived at the prep perfect system.
