Our concrete preparation process looks to find and address existing flaws within the concrete and achieve a smooth finish on which we apply our coatings. The process can be simplified into the steps listed below.
Initial Grind The first step in our preparation is to perform a quick cut over the concrete with our planetary to reveal any preexisting flaws, including cracks, holes, and surface spalling.
Jackhammer/Sawcut After locating the flaws, we move to jackhammering them out to open them up in order to fill them. In some instances, a saw blade may be used to cut cracks in a straight line.
Repair Filling Once all holes and cracks are open, we will fill them with our two-component material. Depending on the condition of the floor, a cementitious patch material may be used.
Repair Grinding When the crack fill material is cured, another grinding phase is done to cut down repairs to be level with the rest of the floor.
Final Grinding
The final step in our preparation begins with continuing the grinding process to ensure the entire surface is smooth and monolithic. This includes cutting edges, hand-grinding corners, and leveling high or low areas.
